Nos hommes dans l’Ouest at the RENDEZ-VOUS QUÉBEC CINÉMA festival
FEBRUARY 12, 2018
For immediate release
ÇA TOURNE PRODUCTIONS is proud to announce that the documentary, NOS HOMMES DANS L’OUEST by director Renée Blanchar, will be part of the lineup of the 36th Rendez-Vous Québec Cinéma festival in 2018.
NOS HOMMES DANS L’OUEST offers a human perspective on the social impact of mega-projects like the oil sands operations in Alberta. This powerful documentary tackles issues related to family life head-on, featuring men from the Acadian Peninsula forced to leave the province for work: life choices, values, absence. Absence is undoubtedly the highest price to pay for all three families trying to cope with the situation. We followed them for several months to create the film.
NOS HOMMES DANS L’OUEST will be presented at 6:15 p.m. on February 28 at the Quartier Latin Cineplex Odeon theatre in Montreal. The director, producer Maryse Chapdelaine and several members of the team will be in attendance. An audience discussion will follow immediately after the screening. The original French version will be broadcast in 2018 on the national ICI RADIO-CANADA television network, and the medium-length version will air on ICI RADIO-CANADA TÉLÉ (Acadia region) and ICI RDI.
