PLAYING AT THE CINÉMA DU CENTRE THEATRE IN CARAQUET

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NOVEMBER 9, 2017 – The documentary, Nos hommes dans l’Ouest by director Renée Blanchar, will play at the Cinéma du Centre theatre in Caraquet under the Ciné+ banner. Several screenings are planned. Two days after officially opening the 31st edition of the Festival international du cinéma francophone en Acadie (FICFA) in Moncton on November 16, NOS HOMMES DANS L’OUEST will be shown on the Acadian Peninsula on Saturday, November 18 at 8 p.m. The director, the producer and other members of the team will be in attendance.

Some 120 tickets for the special screening are on presale at $10 each at the Cinéma du Centre in Caraquet. Ça Tourne Productions and the Cinéma du Centre will donate all proceeds from the first screening to help the Centre de Bénévolat de la Péninsule acadienne make Christmas baskets.

Blanchar wholeheartedly supports the idea of associating the film with a cause. “Our film is about absence and the challenges and heartbreak that families on the Acadian Peninsula face when workers go out west to earn a living. The holiday season is an especially important time of gathering. It warms my heart to think we might be able to help a few families in the region have a better Christmas.” Maryse Chapdelaine, the film’s producer, explains that “this gesture of solidarity is completely in line with our desire to make meaningful films that have an impact in the region where Ça Tourne Productions chose to set up shop.”

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see Nos hommes dans l’Ouest on the big screen!
